The car started gradually getting harder to start. After a while it started to idle weird and would shut off if you let off the gas. Check engine light was on. Took it to AutoZone and had them hook up to the computer and it came back the EGR valve was bad. Just changed the EGR valve and the check engine light went off and it helped the problem slightly but it is idling and still shut off on me a couple of times though not near as much as it was. What else could be the issue?

Hello,

This could be a problem with your vehicle's Idle Air Control valve (IAC). It is located on the throttle body assembly of your vehicle's engine. It is responsible for allowing air around your vehicle's closed throttle plate at idle. It is controlled by your vehicle's Power-train Control Module (PCM) and when it fails will cause your vehicle to idle erratically. I have included in the diagrams down below a diagram of the IAC's location and testing it's resistance. You will need a use a multi-meter to do this and I have included a link below for you to go to if you are unfamiliar with how to use one.

Please go through these guides and get back to us with what you are ale to find out.
