I just had my clutch replaced about a week ago. Everything's been fine until today. I ran some errands, and when I pulled out of the gas station while still accelerating in first. I felt a big jolt followed by severe lag,and check engine light. I shifted to second, and it was driving fine for a few blocks before it did the same jolt, and lag. What could be causing this?

Hi,

The first thing you need to do is have the computer scanned for diagnostic trouble codes. Since the check engine light came on, we need to know what code was set.

Here is a quick video showing how it is done:

I realize most people don't own a scanner, but often times a parts store will do it for you at no charge.

Have that done and let me know what codes are retrieved. At this point, I suspect it may have something to do with the crankshaft position sensor which is mounted right by the starter (near the transmission bell housing which was removed and replaced).

Take care,
Joe
