The other day I thought I was out of gas my car wouldnt start put gas in my tank still no start I tried again pushed the gas and started my car has been making a light squeel for the past couple weeks only moments after starting the car then goes away friday I was in the drivethrew of a store and I heard a small tapping noise from under the hood started driving back to work it got louder and the car produced some smoke now the noise is a loud rattling noise and my car has problems starting up it will start after about 4 cranks and the rattling noise stays and progressivly gets louder the more I press the gas? Im worried its a rod knock but hoping it has something to do with the tensioner to be changed my car is at 130,000 miles and im due for an oil change but not for about 500 miles.

Have you checked to see if the oil is full? Where did the smoke come from?

It makes it hard for me when I can't hear it. What I suggest is that you have a tech with a trained ear to listen to the noise. He should be able to identify it right away if it is a bearing knock.
