I’m seeing dried up fluid on the back part of the transmission and don’t know if it’s leaking or not. I bought the car in May 2020 and had a minor accident but no transmission damage, so I don’t know if it’s had that issue since I bought or a while after.

Hello,

So, do you see any fluid on the ground?
Is the fluid level correct?

Usually if the fluid is leaking for some time, you will have a low fluid level.
Also, it can drip on the ground.

To find out if this is an active leak, just clean out the fluid residue and check it after a drive or two, to see if it appears. If you are unable to see any fluid, then it is likely not a leak.

If your fluid level is correct, then it is possible that it is not an active leak.

Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.

No, I haven’t seen any fluid on the ground. I also checked the dip stick and saw that it wasn’t losing any fluid.

Just keep an eye on it and check the fluid from time to time.
But odds are it is not an active leak or a very minor leak that is not impacting the fluid level that can be measured.
