Few days ago went through car wash then vacuum. I started my car put in reverse and it would not move. I noticed my four wheel and two wheel and four auto lights blinking. I put it in neutral and then reverse and car finally moved, but the lights were still flashing. I drove it eight blocks home, it was very hard to turn wheels making turns. Parked in garage let sit for three days. I tried starting it letting it warm up and then after warmed up light on two wheel drive was back on like it should be so took for a test drive seemed everything was fine but to afraid to try four wheel or auto four just was glad it was in two wheel drive again. I take very good care of car had computer replaced, transmission replaced, oil lines, brakes all the way around. Also, shocks all in last two to three years. I do not know anything about cars. I drive and have serviced when needed.

Also, I am not really sure how many miles everything is kilometers on my car and no converting it it was imported and it is fully loaded with everything.

Hey LITTLEKATHLEEN

It sounds like you have a gear selector actuator or an encoder that is out on the transfer case. Here is a diagram on where you can find them. Try to move the switch and see if you can hear them working.

Here is a diagram

Also I have heard that the switches go out in these as well.

Please run some tests and get back to us so we can continue helping you.

Best, Ken
