So, I go to start my car and when it's cold and it'll make a ugly sound it's at the engine but then after only a second it'll stop and then it will quiet also my car when I put in drive or reverse it jerks really bad and when I come to like a stoplight it'll shut off its acting like crazy. I added a video to see if that helps except the car actually started up fine this time usually it won't I'll hold the key and it'll act like the battery is drained but if I keep holding the key it'll start eventually but it sound really ugly.

Hi,

As far as the transmission shifting hard, it could be a few issues. First, have you checked the fluid level and condition? If not, that is where I would start. It could be low or very dirty.

The stalling at stops could also be transmission related if there is an issue with the torque converter. Is it possible for you to try recording the sound at start up again so I can hear it? Also, let me know if the check engine light is staying on once the engine is running.

If it is, we need to scan the computer to see if there are diagnostic trouble codes that could be related to the problem. Most parts stores will do this for you free of charge. Here is a link that shows what I'm talking about:

Let me know.

Thanks for the video. That is a strange noise, it is hard to tell what is causing the problem. So, the engine runs fine when not is gear? It seems like the engine might be loose from its mounts, can you lift the hood and have a helper watch under the hood to see what's going on? Or can you get a video of the engine when you put it in gear, please? Stand to the side of the car while observing, do not stand in front of it. Let us know how it goes.
