So, my problem is that when I accident out positive on negative while wiring my stereo the iod fuse blew so the stereo, cargo lights didn’t turn on. I replaced the fuse but now they stay on even when the ignition switch is off. I turned off the truck and the stereo and lights stayed turned on with the door closed. It turns off when I pull the fuse out.

You might have burned out the time delay relay, here is the location so you can swap it out to see if it fixes the problem.

CIRCUIT OPERATION
The time delay relay is used to allow a time-ON function for the ignition switch lamp. Power for the relay is provided on the M1 circuit from the IOD fuse (fuse 17) in the fuse block.

Circuit M2 provides ground for the time delay relay through the right and left door jamb switches and the headlamp switch. When a door is OPENED, or the headlamp switch is moved to the dome/cargo lamp ON position, a ground path is provided for the relay on circuit M2. This energizes the relay, causing the contacts to Close.

When the relay contacts CLOSE, power is provided through the relay to circuit M50. The M50 circuit supplies current to the key-in-switch halo lamp. Circuit Z3 provides ground for the lamp.

Here is the location of the relay, check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

So, I checked but I actually can’t find the time delay relay. Where should I be looking? Here’s a picture of my fuse diagram it doesn’t seem to be the same one in your image.

What is the manufacturers date of the truck? The relay could be on the rear of the fuse panel. Here is everything that is on the #17 fuse, I would look at each item. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what you find.

Hi, I found it and replaced it, and it started smoking so I pulled it I don’t know why it did that. What else can be an issue?

It sounds like you have wired a power lead to ground. Can you check the pink wires to make sure they are not touching ground?
