Engine Mechanical problem
1995 Other International Models 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

We have a 4 cylinder gas motor that has been sitting about 1 year. We tried to start it but it will not turn over. We pulled the starter and it does work. We pulled the plugs and found gunk and signs of water but we also looked on the oil stick and found no signs of water... Could this be a blown head gasket?

yes, that could be a blown head gasket and water got into the cylinders.
or, it could be from rain water depending on how your carburetor and intake manifold are set up if it was stored outside.

either way, after sitting for a year with water in it, i'm sure the cylinders and rings are rusted nice and solid.

buy a few cans of penitrating oil and fill the chambers up as much as possible and let it sit.

try to turn the engine over in a few days with a breaker bar on the front crank pulley bolt.

if the oil doesn't work, then it's time to whip out the phosphoric acid.

good luck
