When I turn on the headlights, everything lights except for the tachometer and the AC/heater air flow selector (face, feet, both, defrost) When I tap the dash just above the tachometer, the light comes on. The other seems a lost cause.

Hello thank for using 2carpros.

it seems you have loose instrument cluster connector,or pin inside connector,or loose rpm gauge lamp.
remove instrument cluster check its connector visually if it is clean check internal pins if they are not damaged, check for supply voltage(check picture 1 and 2) at pin B1 (grey) then check for ground at pins A2 (black)and A4 (black/white). If they are good check inside lamp contact if it is clean.
