Interior Aux door is stuck closed

Hello there!

The car listed above is an SE model. Normally I store things in the interior compartment (where the auxiliary power plug is) with no issue.

I placed an item in this compartment and now it won't open. I know that the dealership may charge me an arm and a leg to get this open. Any suggestions on how to open this?

The other option is to pry it open as a last resort and damage it. :(

Hi,

Is the door in the center console, in front of the shifter, or overhead?

Let me know. I remember there being a technical service bulletin related to the interior storage compartment being difficult to open. If I recall, it was due to an alignment issue.

Update: I just saw the other posts. Try wiggling the door to open it. If you use anything to pry with, cover the area with something like duct tape to avoid damage.

According to the TSB, the locating tabs require 1.5 mm removed to fix the issue. Take a look at the pic below. Let me know if this is something you feel comfortable doing.
