This car may have hidden issues that can only be found by a mechanic doing a visual inspection. If there are no known problems that the seller is hiding, they should not have a problem letting you get an inspection done. This would not cost a lot and it is a good insurance policy against buying something cheap that will end up being a money pit.

So, a car that tends to stall while idling (e.G. While at an intersection) there could be many reasons for such a thing?

Probable fuel system related, or vacuum leak. If the engine starts to idle down and starts to shake often it is fuel starvation at idle or idle control is to low, if it will idle out of gear okay but falters when in drive, base idle may be set low or a vacuum leak is present.
