Hello, so on 1/15/23, I took my car to the mechanic shop to have my engine and air filters replaced and my throttle body cleaned. About a week later, my engine light came on. Took it to Advance Auto to get a reading and the code came back p2004- intake manifold stuck open. So, the next day, I took it back to the same shop and reminded the guy the work he had done the week before and the code from Advance. He kept my car for a few days and diagnosed it saying the intake manifold runner was stuck open and it needed to be replaced. My car protection (Mopar) wouldn't cover it because he wasn't an approved dealer. So, a week later, I took it to my dealership. They gave me the same diagnosis and said the part was on back order and I wouldn't be able to get my car fixed until the part comes in 3/18/23 but stated my car was still drivable until then. I noticed when I got back in the car, the engine light didn't come back on like it did after the previous shop put the piece back on. So, my question is, do you think the engine came on due to the throttle body cleaning (because I had no issues prior to) and why hasn't the light come back on? Did the dealership reset it, or the problem is no longer there?

Both these statements can be true, when servicing the throttle body, it could have dislodged build up that got stuck in the intake runner. If the dealer cleared the code and the buildup has passed through the engine you should be okay. I would drive it until the code comes back and then deal with it. Yeah, it's been driving good besides having a rough idle while stopped but I'll keep an eye out for the engine light. Thank you so much Ken!
