Intake manifold runner control stuck closed

The engine light came on. And the code reader reported the "intake manifold runner control" is stuck closed. My question is, do you think that a gas treatment will help me with this problem? The control valve is behind the manifold I cannot get to the control rods to see if they are functioning.

Sometimes it helps. Sometimes it makes it worse also. There is also the possibility that the linkage has come apart. I think you will have to access the controls and linkage.
