Intake has a piece blown of it?

We bought this vehicle from someone and the intake had blown a piece of the intake off of it.

Wow, that isn't good. If that happened, it's likely there was a severe backfire. That could have resulted from different things.

Hi,

I don't know if you need them, but I attached the directions below for the intake manifold. It has the torque specifications and tightening sequence included.

Also, I wanted to let you know the engine needs to be lowered to be able to remove the intake. Take a look through the directions and let me know if you have questions. Also, keep in mind that we don't know what caused the damage to the first intake. I don't want you to damage the new one.
