Hello, I have an instrument cluster for the car listed above. I would like to set it up on a test bench for research, but I cannot find information on the pins. I just want to power on the instrument cluster and connect to the CAN pins on it, but I cannot find out which ones are the power pins and which ones are the CAN network pins. Any help is appreciated.

The only connector on the device is a 40-pin connector, with 20 pins in each row.

Hi,

I would be happy to provide the wiring schematic. However, please be aware there are two different possible clusters that were used. One was a TMC cluster, and the other was NUMMI. TMC is Toyota Motor Corp, and the other is a company in North America owned by both Toyota and GM. Do you know which one you have?

Let me know.

Joe

Hi Joe, thanks so much for the quick response. I believe the one I have is a TMC, but I've attached another photo. Could you confirm that my suspicions are correct? Thanks for all the help.

Hi,

I went through all the cluster connector views and none are 40 pin. When I look at the wiring schematic, it shows there are.

I attached the schematic below. Let me know if it helps.

Joe

See pics below. Note: There were two pages of schematics for this. I had to cut each page in half to make it readable. I did overlap them so you can follow from one to the next.

Hello, thank you again for your help. I think I was able to identify the pins that hold the CAN bus data in this connector. I'm not sure how to power on the device though. I have a 12V power supply that I could connect to the GND and 12V pins, but I don't know which ones those would be on this device. Do you know how I could find those?

Hi,

If I'm reading the schematic correctly, power from the meter fuse goes to pin (pink wire) at the combination meter (cluster).

Let me know if that helps.

Joe
