After replacing the engine, the instrument cluster stopped working?

Just had the engine replaced. Started it up and all the gauges registered but the oil pressure was reading a little high. Then the whole cluster turned off. All gauges including odometer stopped working. I checked the fuse, and it was good. I let it sit for a few days and now it seems the battery is drained.

I have seen the cluster go out and drain the battery down. So, I would charge the battery back up and then unplug the cluster to see if the battery stays charged. If so, replace the cluster with a rebuilt unit.

You can get a preprogrammed unit by searching Google or Ebay. Here is how to remove the cluster in the images below. Please let us know what happens.

Thanks for the info. Also, I noticed that the fuse labeled console/purge is missing out of the fuse box. Purge solenoid? The truck was running, and I put the fuse in and the truck immediately died. Pulled the fuse back out and it started right back up. Guessing this fuse is not something that I need? I'm not sure if that fuse has ever been there and I've had the truck since 2004.
