Yesterday, February 2nd, 2022, I installed a replacement actuator on the Driver side next to the accelerator petal. Before I installed the replacement actuator all gauges on my instrument panel were properly working.
When I went out this morning to my truck the fuel gauge needle was upside down. Attached is a picture I took with the engine running. It shows all other gauges working normally but you can plainly see the problem with the fuel gauge needle upside down.
I have two questions:
1. Is it possible I damaged the fuel gauge when I was replacing the actuator and caused this, although I do not recall any time when I had any tool in that part of the under dash, or is this just a coincidental case of the gauge going bad due to the age and mileage on the vehicle?
2. In order to correct this, will I need to replace the instrument cluster?
Thanks for your time.
