Hello,
This could be a problem with the instrument cluster developing an internal short or a problem with the wiring going to the instrument cluster. In the diagrams down below I have included a factory troubleshooting guide for your vehicle's instrument cluster. When it calls for back probing I like to use an uncoated metal paper clips that are halfway straighten out. You will take the paper clips and delicately insert them on the wire side of the pin cavities on the connector. This will give you access to test the pin in the connector without damaging the pins themselves causing a bad connection when the connector is connected. I have included a link below for you to go to if you are unfamiliar with how to use a multi-meter because the testing will require you to use one.
