I ordered the replacement assembly and removed the old coil and the clutch pulley plate. I was able to replace the coil but the pulley would not go on . I thought that I would put back on the old pulley but I dont know how these washers go on. Can I use the old pulley. I am on social security disability after an accident ten years ago so it its difficult for me to pay the mechanic big fee and the part was 84.00 plus 17.00 for the o-ring pliers. I pray you can help me. Sincerely, Fred ps if this works when I get my next check I would be more then glad to donate some funds.

the shims are there to set the air gap on the plate to the compressor. it should be .017 clearance. use the washers to set this gap
