installing a/c clutch parts

I ordered the replacement assembly and removed the old coil and the clutch pulley plate. I was able to replace the coil but the pulley would not go on . I thought that I would put back on the old pulley but I dont know how these washers go on. Can I use the old pulley. I am on social security disability after an accident ten years ago so it its difficult for me to pay the mechanic big fee and the part was 84.00 plus 17.00 for the o-ring pliers.
