installed new stereo, clearance light fuse keeps blowing when lights are turned on

Put an after market stereo in this car and now clearance light fuse keeps blowing when lights are turned on. i spliced into (not cut) two wires from original radio harness, one for ground and the other for 12volts with the key on.

Does the fuse blow if the stereo is off?

The only thing I can say is to recheck the wiring under the dash to make sure nothing was cut or damaged. That is the only place you worked.
