inserting key to start the engine

i am having trouble starting my car i put the keys in to start the engine but it will not start can you advise me plz this is the first time this has happened i brought the car second hand it blue and its a y reg proton i have never had one car like this before

we have no info on this car as it's not in u.s. but scan for codes and have fuel pressure checked. also if yo uhave a security system on it try resetting it see if that works.
