1995 Infiniti Q45 reverse

Backed out of driveway fine, next time for reverse, no go. all other selections work fine. no fluid damage, no leaks, no noise. Release button on shift lever does not pop up when in reverse. Is that normal? Have not noticed, but pops up in all other selections.

Hi DougT,

Button should pop up in all gears.

If the reverse is not working, it could be trouble with the trans and not the shift lever.

pulled the pan, found metal shavings on magnet, something came loose. will be replacing transmission. No easy fix for this problem.
