I recently bought a 91 Infiniti Q45, and the guy said it had been sitting up a year so he put a new battery in it and as a result, the whole electrical system shut down, but the headlights and taillights work, as well as the remote start alarm! Is it as simple as changing fuses or do I need to get the whole sysytem rewired?

Start by checking all the fusible links and the miniature fuses
