1995 Other Infiniti Models exhaust noise

Can quite figure out where my exhaust leak is coming from on my j30t. Sounds like its up by the passenger side exhaust manifold, but cant feel anything leaking. Could it be under the heat shield of the manifold? Or something else?

Could be, remove the heat shield. Then roll up a rag and use something to wedge it in the tailpipe, start the car, with the restriction, the leak should be easier to find. If need be, get one of those cheap stethoscopes at the auto parts store and use it to hear the leak better

The heat shield is welded onto the manifold. Also, very weird, when you restrict the exhaust the noise almost goes away.

Then you will need something to listen with and unplug the exhaust, whatever it takes to make it loud so you can find it
