1993 Other Infiniti Models pressure build up

air works fine for couple of weeks then compressor kicks on and off.check pressure with gauge and has 80 lbs.let pressure out mashing valve on lp side down to 40 to 45 lbs seems to be all air and oil. works fine for 2 to 3 weeks then repeats cycle.
