My local parts house ran a diagnostic and came up P0300 troubleshooting. Random cylinder misfire. It is a fuel system malfunction, ignition fault, vacuum leak, or engine mechanical. Is there any way I can narrow down the problem? Sometimes the engine runs as smooth as new, and other times runs as though a cylinder is not firing. The service soon light also is intermittent on and off.

Is there a systematic way of detecting the vacuum leaks? I have had the dealership look at the car, and after a several hundred dollar bill it continues to do the same thing.

Fuel seems to have no effect.
