When I move the arm to turn the indicators on they do not work and I get a strange noise from the steering wheel, If I toggle the arm up and down then I can get them to flash. Also the hazard lights will not come on when I press the button. Any ideas most welcome

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros. Com.

If it starts to work when you wiggle it, I suspect the switch itself it bad. This is an easy one to replace, so you may want to at least check it to make sure there are no loose connectors, damaged wires or any obvious issues.

You mentioned you hear a strange noise. My concern is there is a short in the switch.

Here are the directions. The attached picture correlates with these directions.

REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT
LIGHTING AND TURN SIGNAL SWITCH

Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

(pic 1)

1. Remove steering column cover.
2. Remove screws (2), then remove lighting and turn signal switch from spiral cable.
3. Disconnect lighting and turn signal switch connector.

INSTALLATION

Installation is the reverse of removal.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe

Many thanks for your reply and will have a look later, the bit that puzzles me is that the hazard lights went at the same time. Many thanks.

Welcome back.

That is interesting, but since when you wiggle the switch it starts to work, I have a feeling that is where the problem is.

Let me know what you find or if you have questions.

Take care,
Joe
