If the timing belt was taken off, tools were required to set cam & crank
timing, as well as a puller to free the cam sprockets so that they can
spin freely for timing belt placement & tensioning.
If none of that was done, engine damage may have occurred.
2.4l V6? Not a 2.8l V6? Where are you located?
