Hello,

You cannot install an aftermarket pump outside the tank. Here are questions and diagrams on how to change out the fuel pump with a video showing how to drain the tank before you begin:

I need to remove the diesel tank to replace the defective in tank diesel pump. Must I remove the prop-shaft also because this car is a 4wd? Apart from the fuel pump relay is there a fuse also?
