Hello all you full and part time mechanics out there! I've decided I need an impact wrench in the 450-650 ft/lb range. What type or brand do you recommend I buy?

Ingersol Rand is the most recognized brand in the industry. The IR231 has been the workhorse for cheap money for years. It can be bought for under $150 routinely. That unit is rather heavy and has rated torque in the 600 range. For around $250 to $300 you can move up to the lightweight, titanium case guns in the 800 to 1000 ft lbs torque range.
