Okay, so when I start my truck and drive it there’s nothing wrong with it. Until I drive it for more than 30 minutes. Then the speedometer starts jumping. I’ll be going 55 and it jumps from 52 to 60 and it cuts my cruise control off. And the longer I drive it it gets worse to where it goes from 20 to 80 rapidly. And then my transmission will start downshifting. So I went and had my codes read and cleared. But after they got cleared my truck wouldn’t come out of first gear for awhile. And this is where it gets crazy. I go to park it for the night and then drive it in the morning and it runs just fine with no problems at all. So I really need help.

Hi:

It sounds like a vehicle speed sensor (VSS) issue. What codes were present that were cleared?

The speed sensor is located on the transmission. I attached a picture of its location for you. If you can provide the codes that were cleared, it will help me determine if this is the issue.

Let me know.

There was like 33 codes and it was something the mass air flow, and multiple misfires and a lot of things regarding connection. After I cleared those it came back with only 6 codes. The guy didn’t really tell me what they were so I’m not sure about those six. But I can get it read again if you need it.

Hi:

Honestly, the codes are what get us started in the right direction. There are so many different things that can cause issues that are similar. If you could get the codes, it would help or at least help me eliminate things. If he gave you a receipt, check to see if they could possibly be on it.

Let me know.
