I'm curious about exactly what tools I need to replace the starter. I'm stranded and am running to get tools but don't want to bring everything.

Hello,

The starter can be replaced using simple hand tools. You will need some different size sockets like 15mm 16mm and 8mm and wrenches to remove the starter cable and the mounting bolts.
