Ignition switch replacement

Could you please explain the easiest way to replace a ignition switch? (Tilt steering wheel) Does the dimmer switch have to be removed first? If so, how do you remove it? It does not seem to have any screws hooked to it. I am assuming the reason my car is not getting any spark is a faulty ignition switch. I hooked 12 volts to the distributor and it starts up. Do you think I made the right diagnosis?

The ignition switch is down on the column so you do not have to take it apart just lower the column. I would use a test light to see if power is going through it when on. Here is a guide to help with the location of the switch below:
