I'm looking at a Chrysler 300 without a key. Can I switch the ignition and door lock with my vehicle listed above? Will the brain accept it without going into theft prevention mode?

Good morning,

You will need a new cylinder and yes, it must be programmed.

I attached a picture of the lock cylinder for you to view. It is part of the ignition switch.

Another way of doing this is to have a locksmith come to you. He can make a new key for your existing cylinder and program it right at your location. I would consider that if I were you. It would be cheaper than having it towed somewhere and the repairs made.

No, the parts from your other car will not work.
