I replaced the starter then I couldn't get the vehicle to start at all. I replaced the ignition switch and beforehand the car started. After the replacement of the ignition switch the car won't start at all. No crank, no start, no clicking. What do I need to do now? Or do I have to call someone to come relearn the keys? I have no key fob.

Hi,

By chance, is the security light staying on? If the security indicator lights up with the ignition switch in the "on" position, something with the NATS is failing. If you now have a new key, chances are that is the issue.

Let me know. If that is the case, there is a chance it will need to be programmed by a dealership.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

The security light flashed when I first got into the car. Once the key is turned to the on position it stops blinking. All the dash lights come on. We didn't replace the entire ignition ass. Just the switch. We still have the one and only key from when I bought the car. No key fobs. No Trouble codes are present.

Hi,

If you are still using the same key, the switch simply signals the body control module indicating the correct key is being used. Am I understanding this correctly? Was the switch replaced or was the ignition key tumbler lock?

Take a look at the pic below. That is how the system communicates.

Let me know.

Joe
