I have an auto repair shop in Port Huron Michigan. I currently have the car listed above at my place, it has been to several shops for the same issues, and no one can seem to resolve it. Getting a trouble code b2A20-30 ignition stuck in start I cannot find any information on that code in my scan tool as far as possible causes or on my Mitchell one software. The vehicle is having trouble starting at times sometimes the key will just turn forward and not do anything as if the battery was disconnected or the ignition switch was bad which I have replaced the ignition switch already. The radio will turn off at times and the display where the odometer is will blink on and off while a chime sounds as well. I have recently discovered that if I put the key in the ignition and leave the key forward until I hear a chime approximately 45 seconds later it will start every time, I don't know if that's helpful or not. Also, the shifter doesn't want to go out of park at times. Also, I noticed while checking all the fuses there's a 5 amp radio fuse in the passenger compartment fuse box that would be used position number 28 and for some reason when I touch that fuse with my test light to check it, it clicks and the instrument cluster makes a chime sound every time I touch that with my test light, not sure if that helps either. But that's what I found out so far and that's all I know. I sure would appreciate some help with this one. Oh, one more thing, the computer has been replaced in this vehicle already as well by a previous shop. Thank you so much.

I have seen this problem before. It was the SJB that was bad which is common. here is the location of the SJB and how to change it out. A CAN scan might pick it up as well as the problem.

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

Okay, so, where would I purchase a replacement SJB? I'm assuming Ford? And I have a launch scanner fully upgraded for Ford, GM, And Chrysler as well as many other add-ons. Is this CAN scan something different that my scanner doesn't do? Or how would I be able to find weather my scanner does? I really appreciate your help and I'm finally ready to get back at this thing, it has been at a standstill for quite a while as I didn't want to start guessing and racking up a huge bill for the customer. I knew somewhere somebody had to of encountered the same issue.

Yep, IDK about your scanner, does it offer results for the BCM, ABS, SRS and HVAC? If not it is not CAN scanner.

Okay, I have an adequate scanner after further searching your suggestion and the symptoms. I went to the Motorcraftservice. Com website and obtained the factory as built data for the vehicle and attempted to reprogram the original SJB (smart junction box) and after completing that process I have little to no luck even starting the vehicle but I have more trouble codes and a clicking noise from the #28 fuse (5amp radio) so I believe you have me in the right direction however those parts are on backorder until September sometime from Ford I am uploading a photo of the trouble codes I'm seeing now in the SJB and I will keep you posted on my findings but it seems as though I am equipped to program the module myself.

Nice work it does sound like the SJB is the problem, especially with those codes. Please let me know what happens.

I believe so, they did not get back to us which usually means they don't need us anymore because the problem is fixed.
