Wont start and replaced coil,and it's fireing but won't start. And back fires

Have you done anything else like mess with the wires, dist cap or move the distributor?
Please post an engine size when you return.

I took off cap and made sure was OK. But had wires numbers and numbers on distubuter. So all wires was put back as diagram. Did not move distributer position
Engine is a 8 cylender 5.7 l

I also did this same thing a week ago and ran. It seems if you pull distributor and clean it runs for a day or to and refuses to start again but now it's also back fireing thru carb

I did and now it cranks and when it does hit it backfires and won't start

No just cap and rotor

If I was to guess at this I would say you have a cracked distributor cap. You won't necessarily be able to see it even if you know what to look for. I would replace the cap and rotor and verify your firing order.
