When I purchased my vehicle, the previous owner had replaced the ignition lock cylinder. I was given the original remote to the vehicle as well. It turns out the ignition lock cylinder was the wrong one. I have purchased the correct one. I was wondering if the original remote key will work with the new ignition lock cylinder.

Hello,

The remote will need to be programmed with the lock cylinder. As long as the replacement part is for your specific vehicle and has programming capability, then it will work.
This programing does require a lock smith, or a dealer's visit to complete.
Is the replacement lock cylinder an OEM part or aftermarket?

Let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
