A couple months ago my key stopped working as it is really worn out it's just a regular looking car key with the chip inside and it has the alarm little thingy separate it's not a push start or anything like that anyways I went and had a regular key made which only unlocked my door it didn't work in the ignition at all so my son come out to put in different ignition in and instead he just ended up taking out some pins out of my ignition so my key would turn and start the car which has been working fine however my doors don't lock unless I manually locked in myself and the back hatch door won't lock at all and when I push the button to lock the doors they all unlocked and I was just wondering how that would be related by just removing some pins inside my ignition cylinder well now my keys got stolen from me and I don't know what to do if I have a locksmith come out and give me a new key and program it will my old key still work or do I have to change the ignition cylinder and all that as well I want all my doors to lock like they're supposed to and I don't know if the new key will do that or if I have to change my door lock and my ignition lock.
When you suggest I do so nobody can try stealing my car because they have the keys.

Yes, I would call a mobile locksmith which should cost about $250.00 - $350.00 to re-key the car. As far as the door is concerned this can be a separate problem. I would run a CAN scan to see if any codes are stored, this will guide us to the problem. You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) which will work on most cars from Amazon.

Here is a video to show you how:

I have seen the IPDM or BCM start to go out and cause this problem, but it would be nice to see if any codes are in the system. Also, I would check all of the fuses as well.

This guide can help:

Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos in your response to the problem so we can see what's going on.
