I was wondering if I replace my ignition cylinder will my car start? My key has a transponder but the locking cylinder that I'm buying is not chipped will it work for my vehicle?

Welcome back:

It will not start. The immobilizer will not receive a signal from the transponder to indicate the correct key is being used. Thus it thinks it's being stolen.

You need to get the correct type of lock and key and the key will then need programmed for it to communicate with the system.

Take care,
Joe
