Car purchased used, steering wheel lock has never worked. Now a couple of months later, key will not even turn past accessory.

Was informed that changing the ignition lock cylinder would also require the changing of the four ignition coils.

The car has been at the shop for three weeks, wrong lock cylinder came in and part reordered. So still waiting for new one when informed they need to replace the ignition coils as well.

Are they serious? What does the ignition cylinder not turning have to do with replacing ignition coils? The key is simply turning a switch to allow ignition is it not?

Hello,

I have never heard of that before, can you ask them why they feel they need to replace the coils?

Please let us know what happens, we are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken
