ignition working but the next morning key in and it would not turn?

Okay, ignition working beautifully when arrived home from work. next morning the key in and won’t turn! I keep trying and I lean on the steering wheel in process then steering wheel locks! Still not turning at all! Completely locked but in the start position not locked position! Jammed and locked, tried everything for a week but still locked! Key goes in and pulls out fine! Makes all the right bing noises when key goes in it just will not turn at all! Doesn’t feel jammed but does feel locked! Tried everything including hitting with mallet! That might have loosened up a little bit play! But still locked and does not feel gritty or Jamed!
