check fuel pressure with a gauge it may have gone out and also scan for codes auto parts does for free and rent the gauge it can be either of these causing it.

could be that as well if that is what a scanner reads what is code?

see pic for causes I took this code off of a focus because you did not send what model or engine size so there could be a tsb on this. It is says it is both crank or camshaft sensor are damaged but it could also be a broken jumped timing belt/chain causing it. you'll need a mechanic to look at it to determine the latter part.
