I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy with 187k miles. Having a problem with the ignition getting stuck when trying to turn it off. If you turn the steering wheel and jiggle the shifter and hit the brakes it will sometimes release and turn all the way off. It feels like the tumblers are not lining up so it can't turn back freely. Will oiling it help? Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Dan

No, it has a lockout so it can't be locked when not in Park. Some use a cable and some use an electronic solenoid that goes bad. It's going to require some dis-assembly and investigation to determine the problem.
