If the fuse to the brake lights/turn signals is blown and you cannot find the source, will you be able to attach towing lights to it to drive it?

The fuse to the brake lights, hazard lights, and turn signals keeps blowing when I depress the brake. I changed the light bulbs, socket, and brake switch. After unplugging the third brake light and changing the fuse, the lights worked until I moved the car. Will the towing lights work with this issue?

Hi,

Chances are it will do the same thing. There is a separate relay for the trailer parking lights, but that isn't tied into the signals and or the brake lights.

We need to find the short. Have you checked all of the light sockets?

Also, and don't laugh, if you remove the bulbs, does the fuse still fail?

I have checked the lights and changed the sockets. When I remove all bulbs, the fuse will still blow.

Hi,

Okay, here is what I need. First, I have a feeling the problem is with the multi-function switch. The brake lights run through there first.

Take a look at the schematics below. Let me know if it is fuse 2 that keeps failing. If it is, I want you to disconnect the brake light switch and see if the signals work without causing the fuse to fail.
