How do you set the idle on a 1976 FI VW? Points and timing has been set to factory specs. The motore idles fast on starting and never drops down. Runs fine but just simpally idles too fast. Is there an idle adjustment on the fuel injection?

There's a speed screw at the base of the throttle bore, close to the cold start valve.

Make sure the gas cable is not adjusted too tight and that the throttle position is correct.

There's also a deceleration valve that can stick, causing high idle. Disconnect the vacuum line at the valve to see if the idle drops.
