idle surges up and down while cold.and runs great when warm.

dosnt want to stay idleing when cold and check engine lite wont come on.

You may have a problem with the idle air control motor (IAC) if there are 2 small water hoses going to the throttle body, make sure these are not blocked and the water passage in the throttle body is also free, start here.
