Over the course of I'd say four months there have been three times that I go outside hours after the car has been driven and I hear a winding or buzzing noise. Each time I grab the keys and start it and shut it back off and the noise is gone. Tonight was the third time and before I started the car I took a look under the hood and was able to locate the noise coming from the Idle Air Control valve. So I guessing I am just wondering if this is just a weird hiccup or if there is a known cause and solution. Thank you for any help.

Hi,

That isn't a common issue. It sounds like it is sticking and trying to find the off position. Since it is making noise, I would remove and inspect it. There is a chance carbon or dirt of some kind is causing this.
