identify a sensor/clip

I replaced the ignition cylinder. There is a clip or sensor I needed to remove based on the instructions I had been given. When I removed it (it has a brown and a green wire going into it and a spring-loaded sensor or something that requires a tiny spring inside the connector. Without it the little nub of a sensor (I think that's what it is anyway) is no longer spring loaded.

I lost the spring trying to get it back together. I don't know what it is or what it does. I can't find the spring. I need to know what the connector is for and the name of the item and get a replacement spring or the whole connector.

Looks like this wire is there for when the switch is in the run position. The spring is for when you turn to the start position, and it pushes the switch back and holds it in the run position rather than remaining in the start position so that the starter stays engaged.

I am not aware of a way to get the spring by itself as it normally comes with a replacement switch.

You may be able to get one from a salvage yard but more than likely they will be included in the replacement switch.
