I was driving pretty fast like 50 down a road that was really bumpy filled with potholes, so it was not a smooth road at all. After that I got a flashing check engine light that popped up, which I pulled over for it. I plugged in my scanner, and it said misfire cylinder 2, also the car was idling very rough. Side note: The car was running fine before this, but when I turned the car back on it seemed like it was back to normal. also, I think I’m low on oil, and I need to check.

Hi,

Make sure the oil is full. As far as the check engine light, if it was flashing, you had a misfire at that time.

Since the misfire was limited to cylinder two, there is a chance a coil pack may have a loose or corroded connection. Also, the coil itself could be starting to fail.

Has the check engine light turned back on? Have you noticed any misfiring since this happened?

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe
